About Me—"The Future Coach"
My background
I am one of those people who needs to know how everything works. As a child, I somehow realized that the type of knowledge that is valuable is “cause-and-effect” knowledge. Everything else is of lesser importance. “A” was the cause that resulted in the effect “B.” “B” then became the cause that had the effect “C,” and so on. I learned that I could not observe some causes directly, but I could discover them by observing their effects.
From bull dozers to field and stream biology to US Navy jets to homebuilding to telecommunications technology to corporate executive to entrepreneur, I am a "generalist" with broad knowledge and experience in multiple domains.
A Catholic school education plus an aptitude for math, science, and technology put me on a quest to discover whether the origin and meaning of life were mystical or objective. It took me over thirty years of applying reason to what we know about the Laws of Nature, the nature of things that exist, facts of reality, and the critical thinking of specialists to isolate and identify what I call the Six Critical Processes. These fundamental principles answer life's biggest questions:
- "What is reality and the reason I exist?"
- "How do I know it?"
- "How should I live my life?"
- "How should people deal with each other?"
- "Where are evolution and technology taking humanity?"
- "How do I achieve happiness?"
I am happy to share what I learned with you, and you can decide if it makes sense.
My motivation
- Most people are unaware of the twin tsunamis of societal and technological change that are heading our way—soon.
- Fundamental philosophical ideas commonly held in our society will determine whether the future will be “good” or “bad” for us. Our technology will amplify the effects of these ideas upon us—good or bad.
- Understanding how to think about these important ideas and how they cause the effects that you see happening in your world is not difficult. We were just not taught how when growing up.
My purpose
I have grandchildren in elementary school. When they reach high school in about ten years, I want my comprehensive book, INTELLOPY, to be there for them if I am not. I recorded what I have learned over the decades about how the world works. These essential reality-based principles will help them achieve their heroic vision, navigating what is sure to be a turbulent future.
My shorter The INTELLOPY® Series books are intended for a wider audience, focusing on specific topics of interest. HUMANITY'S STARSHIP provides a reality-based perspective on humanity's evolution and today's issues via a condensed presentation of The Six Critical Processes.
My purpose as "The Future Coach” is to teach a person how to:
